It's Friday again (#tgif) so that means it's time for another Featured Outfit of the Week! I really hope y'all are enjoying these posts! So here it goes...I actually wore this weeks out fit on my 18th birthday! (I'm thinking about doing a blog post in the near future about how I feel about being 18 now, please let me know in the comments if that's something y'all would like to see!)
Black Dress- from Target
Jean Jacket- I don't know where I got this (sorry!)
It's time for another New Nail Color post! I painted my nails the other day because I had begun to get bored with the color that was on them. This time I picked Fiji by Essie. I really love this color. It's such a cute baby pink color. The formula is really smooth too, just like we know Essie polish to be! The only down side is that it does take a few coats to make the polish look clean and opaque. I used 3 coats on my nails in the picture bellow. I highly recommend this color!
As y’all have probably realized by my “New Nail Color” posts, I really love nail polish and painting my nails. So I wanted to show y’all my top 5 nail colors! These are all colors I really like to wear on my nails. Of course this will be different for everybody, but these are just my recommendations.
Bachelorette Bash by Essie.
This is the perfect hot pink! It’s a super cute color (pink is my favorite!) and Essie polishes always have a great formula!
Ripe Apple by Nicka K New York.
This is a perfect red nail polish. I find it great for any occasion too. The formula is rather long wearing and only needs one coat to look great!
Fiji by Essie.
This is a super cute light pink. I find this perfect for people that only want a light look on their nails. And as always, Essie means great formula.
Guys & Galaxies by Nicole by OPI
This is a really great glitter nail polish. It’s very classic glitter without anything else that might look weird. But of course like any glitter polish, it takes some work to get off.
Penny Talk by Essie
This is a really great gold nail polish. No fuss about it. It only takes one coat and has the typical Essie formula!
Hope y'all enjoy these recommendations! Leave YOUR recommendations in the comments! I'd love to see what everyone else is loving. XOXO Faith
I was thinking a bit the other day and I thought it would be really fun if every Friday I posted a different outfit. The posts will include a picture as well as a description of what I'm wearing. I think these weekly posts will be a fun way for people (including myself) to indulge in our love of fashion! If you like these posts please leave a comment ans let me know! I'd also love for others to link their own posts about outfits in the comments as well! So here's the first post in this series! Hope y'all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
This first outfit is something really simple, but I think it still looks clean and cute!
So here's what I'm wearing!
Top: Grey Long Sleeve Shirt from Faded Glory
Vest: White Puffer Vest from Free Country
Pants: Black Leggings from Tangerine
Shoes: White Leather
I also thought y'all might what to know what jewelry I'm wearing,
So here it is!
Necklace: Long Pearl from H&M
I hope y'all really enjoyed this post! Let me know if you want to see more! It's definitely something I can continue.
I know that my previous posts have been all about beauty, makeup, and things like that. Although, I do love those things (and posting about those things) I thought it would be nice to include other things on my blog as well. That's when I got the idea to do book reviews. It would just be a quick post where I talk briefly about a book I recently finished. It's not anything that will be super routine or scheduled either, I figured it could just be something I'd do if and when I finish a book I really like and have something to say about it. Let me know if you like this idea! But I figured I'd do my first one today. Recently I finished reading Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, so that's the I'm going to talk about! Just a short description of the book for ya'll: It's about this young, unnamed, women who suddenly marries a much older, widowed, man. His wife, Rebecca, was said to have drowned out at sea in a tragic accident. But when the new wife is unable to escape Rebecca's shadow, she begins demanding answers. I read this book for an English assignment, but let me tell you that this is one of the best books I've ever had to read for school. The whole plot line is really mysterious and you have to keep reading the book to get more information and figure out what's going on. It's a true thriller, there were times where I just had to keep reading so I could find out more information! I would highly recommend this book to people who are into mystery and thriller books!
Thanks for reading this post and be sure to let me know if these kinds of posts are things you'll enjoy to see every so often!
Last night I decided it was time to repaint my nails- of course!
I used to be the type of person that could go forever without a new nail color, but lately I've been really into doing them more often (and getting more use out of the tons of nail polishes I have!) So yesterday I decided to paint by nails with the Nicka K New York Nail Color in Ripe Apple. It's a very classic true red nail polish. Perfect for my style! I know that a red nail polish might not be for everyone, but if your in the market for one- this is great! I even find that one coat is enough for it to look good (however, I did use two coats in the picture below)
I got my Ipsy bag yesterday! #yay I was thrilled, as always. So here's what I got:
But first I wanted to explain a little bit about what Ipsy is for those who don't already know. It's a monthly beauty subscription that costs just $10 each month. You typically get 4 to 5 full sized or deluxe samples in each bag. You take a quiz at the beginning so that they can tailor products to your likes. A bonus is the cute makeup bag the products come in! If your interested in singing up- you can sign up here >> http://www.ipsy.com/r/1p4t?sid=ipsypoints&cid=general
But now to the January bag!
This months theme is Fresh Start.
(Here's a picture of all of my items)
Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush
This is a fairly simple eye shadow brush. It's really soft and I do really love the pink color. It may not be one of my absolute favorite things I've gotten in a bag, I am very happy with it. Besides, who doesn't what more makeup brushes!
Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Ethereal
This is a pretty typical eye shadow as far as quality is concerned. It's not amazing but it isn't horrible either. I do think the color is super pretty. It's a really light color. I find it would be great as a highlight shade! I'm excited about being able to play around with it.
La Fresh Eco-Beauty Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer
This seems like a moisturizer that's meant to be used in the morning or during the day. I have not used any of it yet. However, I do think its cool that I got it.
Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer
This product is meant to hydrate lips. I think it's supposed to be a lip treatment. I did used this once last night. It did help to moisturize my lips! Plus it has a light tint that makes it perfect to wear out and about if you want to. I'm really happy I got this product. I think it's my favorite of this months bag!
Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder in Whesek.
This is like a loose eye shadow. This color is a lighter charcoal gray color. I like the color, however, as someone who wears mostly very light neutrals it's something I would have to force myself to wear.
I hope y'all liked seeing what I got in my January Ipsy bag! I'd love to know what y'all got and/or what you think about them so comment bellow! And don't forget, if your intersted in getting your own Ipsy bag, sign up here >> http://www.ipsy.com/r/1p4t?sid=ipsypoints&cid=general
I painted my nails the other day and just really feel in love with the color-Bachelorette Bash by Essie. I felt like it was something I really wanted to make a post about. You'll see in the pictures bellow that the color is a really rich hot pink. I think it's something that is super classy but is also playful as well. The name is too cute in my opinion and I just love Essie nail polishes in general. I find the colors to be really great, the names adorable, and the formula to be pretty good. I would recommend Essie in general but espically Bachelorette Bash!
Since I was little I've always been really into fashion. I spent sleepless nights coming up with new outfits using what was in my closet and spent free time flipping through Teen Vogue. So I thought I’d share my wardrobe essentials. These 10 items are things I don’t think I could live without. I feel like all of these pieces are neutral or basic enough to offer endless outfit possibilities. My personal style tends to be very preppy, however, I feel like these will translate to other styles as well.
These are a good staple to have in your closet because you can do almost anything with them. You can pair them with a nice blouse for a dressy look, or with a Tshirt for a casual or lazy look. The ones pictured are from a brand called Tangerine and I got them at Sams Club. Awesome find!
Leopard Print Flats
These are great for more styled or dressy looks. They can be paired with every neutral and some color (such as pink or red). I wore mine to my cousins rrehearsal dinner with leggings and a red blouse and it looked great. The ones pictured are American Eagle and I got them on sale at Payless. Love them!
These are great for both dressy and casual looks. I wear these both ways all the time. They look nice and classic but are not as dressy as heels and they are not too nice to wear with things like Tshirts. The ones pictured are American Eagle as well. My mom gave them to me (Thanks mom!), but I have seen the exact pair at Payless before. So glad I own them!
White Infinity Scarf
Having one of these is so great! Coming from someone that wears a lot of neutrals, I can wear this with almost every single outfit. I really love infinity scarfs in general. They are a great accessory because they are so simple yet pull together a look flawlessly. The one pictured was a gift from my nana (Thanks nana!) therefore, I don’t know the brand or where it was purchased. I was super thrilled to receive it!
This is one of my favorite staple pieces. It works with everything. I think wearing it as a jacket, but also as a part of my outfit that I’d wear all day long. I don’t know the brand or place of purchase for the one pictured. I honestly don’t remember when I got it. Sorry guys!
This are just a great neutral shoe. I suggest Keds, they are my personal favorite. These, as most of my other essentials, can be dressed up or dressed down. The sneakers pictured are Keds and I bought them at a local shoe shop. They are awesome!
These are absolutely wonderful! I love to wear them out and about but also love them for lazy outfits. They have some style to them, but so comfortable. I have one pictured. The pink one is from Southern Shirt Co. and it was a gift from my parents (Thanks mom and daddy!) but I know it was purchased online.
White Puffer Vest
These are great for fall/winter outfits. They are so simple but look so good. The one pictured is from Free Country and I bought it at Sams Club. Amazing find!
Cute Long Sleeve Tshirts
These are great for just lazy outfits. I love having lazy clothes that are also cute. All of the shirts pictured are from Future First Lady. Love the shirts and the brand!
This is another great staple that can be dressed up or dressed down. So cute too! I don’t remember where this is from. Sorry again guys!
Hope this helped those hoping to build their wardrobe!
I thought it would be a cool idea to do a posts about organization. I thought I'd start off this series in this post about how I keep organized in the morning by organizing my outfits. I know a lot of people pick out what they are going to wear the night before, I take it to a little bit higher level then that. I like to pick out my outfits for an entire week all at once. Usualy, on a Sunday night I will sit down and decide what I want to wear for the next Monday through Friday. Once I make a decision I'll take out a pad of piece of paper and write the outfits down. That paper is then kept in my room somewhere, typically near my closet, for the week. It really allows me to quickly grab the clothes I'm wearing that day and continue getting ready. No guessing game, no fuss. I find that if I wait until the day of to pick out my clothes I spend forever trying to decide what I want to wear, and when I do decide it usually isn't something that great. Now, I can easily have an outfit that looks great in order to wear to school or out and about. It shaves minutes off of the time it takes me to get ready in the morning! Pictured bellow is two pictures of how I write out my outfits. I hope this inspired you to get organized!
Target just announced that they are collaborating with Lilly Pulitzer to release a new line on April 19. This line will be exclusive to Target and offer 250 different items. Prices of these items will range between $2 and $150. However, most items will be under $30. It was even revealed that the collection will offer 15 exclusive prints. With this just hitting the media yesterday, I thought I’d offer my thoughts. I’m quite thrilled about the partnership. I think it’s a great opportunity for people to own pieces that mimic the classic Lilly style while not spending the higher prices for the actual designs. Coming from someone who owns multiple Lilly Pulitzer items, it’s not always realistic to pay high end prices. Whether it be for Lilly items or another designer/brand, the price tags just aren't always possible. It’s also great even if someone can afford designer brands but prefer to get a better bang for their buck for their favorite style. Personally, I love the bright colors and bold prints that are synonymous with Lilly Pulitzer and am excited to have additional opportunities to own it.
I think it has the potential to really increase Lilly Pulitzer’s sales as well. The items at Target will be more accessible to people, therefore opportunity for sales. In addition, seeing the items in the store might encourage people to get on the website and buy other designs (at full price). I know that there are some people who disapprove of the partnership. However, I believe that if you are a true Lilly lover you’d be excited for their next business adventure. Can't wait for April 19th!
Recently, Pantone announced their pick for the 2015 color of the year: Marsala. It can best be described as a burnt orange/red. I think the color is great for fall! The style options with the color are almost endless for fall and even winter. I think it's also a great color that can be used in makeup looks as well. Dark lips, eye shadow looks, or even blush would look great with this color. I myself own a lipstick that looks very similar to the color. On the side of clothing, I'd like to see this color as an infinity (to be paired with neutrals such as white and navy) and a pair of pants or leggings. The only down side to beloved Marsala? I'm not sure how easily it will translate into spring or summer looks. The color reads rather dark to me. However, I'm excited to see what others come up with. Who knows, I could be pleasantly surprised!
I have always been a huge lip prodect addict. From lip balm to lip gloss to lipstick, I love them all.
So here's the best of the best, in my opinion
Best Lip Balm
Lip Smacker Startburst candy flavor lip gloss in Strawberry Watermelon.
Lip Smacker is for little girls, right? That's what I thought until I received this as a thank you gift from a friend. I absolutely adore it! The smell and taste is out of this world and it really helps dry lips too! I definitely recommend this one.
Best Lip Gloss
Nyx Butter Gloss in creme brûlée.
These lip glosses are so soft and feel amazing on the lips. There's tons of wonderful colors, but my personal favorite is creme brûlée.
Kate Moss by Rimmel London in 01.
This is the perfect for a classic red lip. Georgeous and not too difficult to apply. Great investment if your looking for this makeup staple!
Please note that this is not a sponsored post and all products were purchased with my own money.
Only two days into the new year I began thinking about wanting to do something fun for myself, and thought about starting a blog. I had never done it before, but it was something I had (secretly) kind of wanted to do for a long time now. So I decided to start Faith's Girly Life. I want this blog to be a place where myself, and anyone who might read, can be happy, inspiring/inspired, and talk about things they enjoy. I am going this for myself to have fun, even if no one else reads a single post (If there ever is a point where people do wish to read my posts, I'll be forever grateful of them) My posts will center around my life and things I like such as school, beauty, travel, creative writing, current event commentary and the occasional post about living a healthier lifestyle. I am unsure if I a going to post on a specific schedule or just when I feel is right. As we head into 2015 with a full force, I'm excited for my future and the future of Faith's Girly Life!
