UNC Charlotte

Hi everyone! As the school year comes to an end (can you believe it!) I wanted to formally announce where I will be attending college next year. I have already done this with family members and I have made casual references on my blog, but I wanted to make it official.

Next year I will be attending the University of North Carolina Charlotte. I am so excited to be apart of the UNCC class of 2019!

I was very apprehensive about the school at first, I just think I wasn’t giving it a proper chance and I had other colleges on my mind as well. However, I choose to give it a chance and attend Explore, which is Open House, and I immediately fell in love. Everyone is so nice at the campus, the proximity to Charlotte is great for this urban girl,  and the education program is stellar. I plan on majoring Special Education but I’m still trying to decide about my minor. Right now I am considering reading and/or psychology. I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life! I hope to keep everyone updated on my college experience if that’s something you're interested in that!

Skin Care Essentials

Hey everyone! I really wanted to share with y'all my skin care essentials for my super dry skin! These are all things I use on almost a daily basis and have found to work for me. I hope these suggestions could help you!

For my face I use a couple different products, but I will start off with saying that I do not regularly use a cleanser. I know this is probably pretty bad for my skin, however, I have yet to find a cleanser that doesn't dry out and strip my skin. However, good news, I have a few samples of gentle cleansers I'm trying to get around to trying and hopefully those will work out better for me!

Yes to Cucumbers facial wipes
I use these each night to remove my makeup. They do the job and do not have a super harsh sent or anything that could be bothersome. I have been using these for a few years now and haven't changed!

Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil
I have been using this since I got it in one of my Ipsy bags and I just love it! It does such a great job at adding moisture to my skin. I use this at night right after I get out of the shower usually. I have seen such a difference in my skin while using this. I recommend face oils to anyone with dry skin!

Yes to Carrots Body Butter
I use this as my facial moisturizer and I really like it. It's thick enough to help my skin out but not too thick you can feel it sitting on your face (who wants that!? no one!). The sent is so light too which I really like.

Vaseline Spray n' Go lotion
I use this right when I get out of the shower. It's really fast and easy, just spray and rub it in! I would say that this is not a super extensive moisturizer. However, I find that if I use it every night it does keep my skin from getting too dry! I would still recommend it to anyone! It comes in three sent's as well; oats, aloe, and coco butter. I have tried them all and I would have to say that coco butter is my favorite.

IPSY April 2015

Hi everyone! It's time to see what I got in this months Ipsy bag! I have had it for a little while now, but I just haven't got the time to take pictures and write this post until now. I'm so sorry and I'll work on getting it up faster in the coming months! If your interested in Ipsy follow the link here to subscribe!

This month's theme is Beautifully Bohemian. Which I'll admit is not my favorite. It's just too different from my style, but fortunately I enjoyed all the products I received. which is the whole point right?

Here's what I got!

JuileG Nail Color
I have not gotten a chance to paint my nails with this color yet, but I think it's adorable! I can and will always be excited about a pink nail polish. Let's just hope for the best when it comes to formula!

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum
This seems like a really nice product for dry skin. I haven't used it yet, but I'm excited to! With it getting warmer out my skin isn't as severely dry as during the winter, but I'll take a moisturizing product any day!

Aromachology Sophisticated & Sensual Floral Eau de Parfum
This is just a cute little fragrence sample. Now, I'm not ussualy a huge fan of these samples. What if I don't like the sent?! But I'm excited about this one because it smells pretty good!

theBalm Cosmetics NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single
I am so excited about this eyeshadow! I love theBalm and I love nude eyeshadow. This is really a great shadow for making all kinds of looks, especially for someone like me who pretty much only uses nude shadow (with occasional purple or something).I got the color Fit and I think it's great. Such a great thing to make in the bag!

Starlooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss Now, I have already received this lip gloss in a different shade in a pervious bag. But I'm not even mad about it because it's a great gloss. I got the color cuddle. This gloss is great to throw on throughout a busy day. I kind of want more shades now!

Spring Break Haul!

Hi everyone! Instead of the typical Featured Outfit of the Week post I usually do on Friday's I thought I would go ahead and post this instead! Featured Outfits will be back next week! So as you know, a few weeks back was my spring break. While out traveling, I got a chance to buy some things, so I thought I'd share everything I got! I have a few fashion items and a few accessories. Enjoy!

Forever 21

I got this Bathing Suit top at Forever 21! I love the print! Also, I always have such a hard time finding bathing suit tops that fit the way I want them to, so when I found this one I had to pick it up. I'm excited to go to the pool or beach now!

I got this top at H&M in their Basic section. It's just a simple, lightweight T-shirt with a fake pocket on the front. I think it's a great shirt for both winter and summer! I'm excited to wear it!

I also got these black leggings at H&M in the Basic section. I live by the philosophy that you can never have too many pairs of leggings, so when I saw these I had to pick them up.

Vera Bradley

Vera Bradley was having an amazing sale! 50% off the entire store! But when I was looking around I found an even better deal. I picked up this iPhone 5 case for only $5 when the original price is $35!
I could not pass it up!

Kate Spade

Kate Spade was also having a great deal! 50% off all handbags and wallets, then certain collections were and additional 20% off! I got this beautiful wallet for a steal! I'm so in love with the color. It's by far my favorite purchase of a long time.

I got this koozie from my parents at Hattie B's. I collect different koozies from all over so they decided to get me this one to remember my trip to Nashville.

Travel Journal: Nashville,TN

I got to visit Nashville, Tennessee over spring break! We only spent one full day (and two nights) there, however I really had the chance to do a lot! This included a tour of the Grand Ole Opry House, shopping (a spring break haul post will be coming soon!), and eating lots of good food! Check out these pictures and enjoy!
We went to Hattie B's Chicken for dinner right after arriving in Nashville!

I had some simple Southern Style Chicken Tenders and plenty of fries, it was so good!

And next to where we ate for dinner was a Gigi's Cupcakes, so we had to get dessert!

Here's a look at all of the cupcakes we got! So yummy!

We got to go to the Grand Ole Opry House!

Hailey and I are posing with one of the signs on the property.
We took a tour and went backstage! Here's a dressing room!

We got to stand on the stage!

Here's a look at the beautiful auditorium.

For lunch we ate a Chuy's

Here's a picture of the menu. Chuy's is Tex Mex food.

I ate a bean and cheese burrito for lunch and it was awesome!

We ate at Rippy's Ribs for dinner!

I had a pulled pork sandwich (again) and it tasted so good!

Overall Thoughts: Although this wasn't my favorite travel destination, I really liked it! It's a really interesting city and I'm so glad I got to go! I feel like I did some really cool things that others might not have gotten the chance to do, and I'm so grateful for that!

Travel Journal: Memphis,TN

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to show y'all what I did during my recent visit to Memphis, TN. I only sent a couple hours there. I was passing through on the way to Nashville (my travel journal about that will be up soon!). I was still able to see a lot in those few hours though!
This was on the bridge crossing over the Mississippi River before getting into Memphis. I thought it was a cool picture!

The Beale Street sign! How could I go to Memphis and not take a picture of this street sign!?

Hailey (my sister) and I are posing with the car of Jerry Lee Lewis. But I'm not going to lie. I admit that my parents had to tell me who he was after the picture was taken!

Elvis Presley; the king of Rock n' Roll! This was on the side walk as we walked down Beale Street. I just had to snap a picture of it.

This is the sign for the restaurant we ate at for lunch. It's called Pork on Beale!

Here's a picture of my lunch; a regular pulled pork sandwich. It was so good! It really was one of the best things I've eaten in a little while. For a girl born in the Midwest, I sure am Southern at heart when it comes to pork!

We got to go to Sun Records too! It's where all the greats of Nashville made it big, including Elvis!

Here's a little info about Sun Records.

Had to add in a picture of the building itself!

Overall Thoughts: It was not my favorite place (compared to everywhere else I have traveled to) However, I'm glad I got the chance to go there! I got to see some pretty cool things and eat some really good food!

Instagram Feed (2)

Hi everyone! So back in January I did an Instagram Feed post where I showed y'all the 3 most recent pictures on my Instagram account. I really enjoyed writing that post and it seemed like people liked reading it so I really wanted to do another one. Right now I'm at the point where I have 3 more pictures which I have something to say about them and that they all go together. I have even included the caption from Instagram incase you're interested! So I figured now as  good as any to do my second Instagram Feed post! So here it is and I hope you enjoy!

So spring break started last Friday, and I had plans to go out of town, so when we left North Carolina I took a selfie in the car; because if you don't take a selfie the road trip never happened right? HAHA. So there's nothing much to the picture other than the fact that I was on the way to Arkansas (which I will talk about more later in this post) and then from Arkansas going on to Memphis and Nashville (look out for a travel journal about that later this week!)
Saturday #Selfie on the way out of town

This is a picture of my sister, Hailey, and I. I posted this on Easter with a "Happy Easter" message (you can see the caption bellow). It is on the back deck of my grandparents house. I thought it would be good to get some trees in the background! It had rained almost the entire time we were there but we were able to get the picture between the spats of rain. The whole reason I went to Arkansas was to visit my grandparents in Hot Springs so I thought it was kind of fitting that the picture I had posted was at there house!
Happy Easter

This, again, is a picture of my sister and I. But this time the backdrop is one of the spring fountains in Downtown Hot Springs. The other day we went downtown to walk around and see all of the shops and everything like that. I'll be honest and say that it was not my favorite place that I've traveled, but I'm glad I was able to get outside and do something (the rain had finally stopped!) and felt the need to document it with a picture.
Sister Sister
I hope you enjoyed this small look at my Instagram (as well as my stay in Arkansas). Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@faith_allyn_dumais) to keep up to date on my life!
