What I got for Graduation!

Hey everyone! So I graduated high school and ended up getting some amazing gifts. I really wanted to share them with y'all! I'm by no means trying to brag about what I received and am so thankful for all gifts AND the people in my life who gave them to me!

Just had to add in a picture of the classic yellow Kendra Scott gift box!

Alexandra Earrings in Magenta by Kandra Scott
My aunt and uncle bought me these beautiful earrings! I just love hot pink and I'm trying to wear more gold jewelry. These are perfect!

Silver 2015 Graduation Cap Charm Bangle by Alex and Ani
My aunt and uncle bought me this bracelet as well! I have been wanting it since it came out and am so thrilled to own it now!

Essie Nail Polish
So my eKidz cordinator, eKidz director, and his wife got me a Target gift card for graduation. So I took it and bought 3 Essie nail polishes! The colors are too cute!
Pure Ice Nail Polish
The juniors of Student Council bought the seniors a little gift. Part of mine was these two nail polish colors! They look so cute and I'm happy to get the chance to try them out.
Nail Set
The StuCo juniors also got me this little nail set with tweezers, file, and clippers.

"Oh, the Places you'll go!"
My mom took this Dr. Seuss book and had as many of my elementary school and high school teachers as she could sign the pages. It's such an amazing thing!

College Survival Kit
My dad put together a "College Survival kit" of a bunch of things he things I need for college! It includes pens, gift cards, candy, a koozie, and so many other things!

Laptop Bag
My sister got this for me! I think it's supper cute and will come in really handy when I'm lugging my laptop from place to place while in college!

Photo Album
My nana and popa put together this photo album of pictures of me growing up and left room to add in college years!

July IPSY 2015

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! So this week instead of doing my typical "Featured Outfit of the Week" posts, I thought I'd go ahead and share my Ipsy bag for the month of July! I got it the other day and just didn't want to wait any longer to post it and show it to y'all. Quick explination for those who haven't heard of Ipsy- It's a $10 a month beauty subscription service that gives you 4-5 sample (and sometimes full size) products. I think it's a great way to get new stuff and try new stuff out without spending too much money! And if you end up with something you don't like or doesn't work for you- you can always pass it along to a friend. Go here if you're interested in subscribing to get your own bag next month!
Here's what I got this months bag! The theme is Summer Lovin

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer
Everyone always talks about Tarte's Amazonian Clay products, so I'm really excited to get to try one out. I don't normally wear bronzer on a daily basis, but this looks light enough to where I can get some good use out of it!

Jor'el Parker Classico
I do enjoy getting fragrance samples because it's an easy way to have a ton of scents to choose from when getting ready for the day! I'm still on the fence about how I feel about this one though, I like it, but I don't think I'm in love with it. I think I'll have to wear it for a day or two to really decide!
Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Blam in French Kiss
Thanks to Ipsy, I've gotten to try a lot of different Be a Bombsell products and have really liked them all! And this lip balm is no exception! When I put it on my lips it feels really nice and the color is really light but really beautiful!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner
I got this is a brownish gold color and I think it's really pretty! I also think the 2-in-1 idea is very interesting. I do think it could look really good as either an eye shadow or an eye liner. I'm excited to give it a try!

Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser
This seems to be a pretty typical cleanser, however it does say it's soapless, which is interesting. However, right on the bottle it says it's for oily, acne prone skin and my skin is very dry and clear. So I passed it along to my sister and I'm hoping she'll get some good use out of it!
I hope y'all enjoyed seeing what was in my Ipsy bag this month! I really love writing these posts and showing y'all such a fun part of my life.
Do you want to see a more in depth review of any of these products?
To those of you who subscribe to Ipsy- What did you get this month?

Book Review: The Tipping Point

Hey everyone! Today I really wanted to talk about a book I just finished recently; The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.

This is a book in the "psychology" section. It really talks a lot about epidemics. Specifically, what causes things like a drop in crime or a fashion trend and also the people that cause them. It has a ton of examples and a lot of insightful information. I really loved reading this book. I think any one interested in psychology or gaining new knowledge would really enjoy this book. This is not the first book I've read by Gladwell. I read Outliers as well and it was just as good as this one!

Monday Empowerment

Hey everyone! Lately I've come across a few pictures that I find really empowering and I really wanted to share them with y'all! I want my blog to be a place that is very inspiring, uplifting, and empowering. I hope that is what this post does for those of you who read it! The pictures (along with their source) are down bellow. Enjoy!

This is a reminder to not let Monday's get you down. As it says it's "My Day." Take that empowerment to make your Monday's great and productive instead of draining and defeating. We all have the ability to make our Mondays great! I know there are times where productivity is the last thing on our minds when it comes to Monday's. But let's change that! Take charge of your awful Monday and turn into something beautiful. Just imagine what could be accomplished if we allow this to be our mindset about Mondays!
Make sure love to life you live. Wholeheartedly. No matter where you are or what your doing, be sure to love it. Everyone deserves to fall in love with being alive. My hope for you is that it happens each and every day.

I want to encourage those who are in a situation they don't love to make a change in their life! Weather it be a negative relationship, an unsafe living environment, or just a job that just doesn't set our soul on fire. Make sure your obsessed with each and every part of your life. But if you find that you aren't- I pray you have the strength to make the change.

Book Review: All the Light We Cannot See

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about a book I just finished All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.

I really enjoyed this book! It's a historical fiction about a young blind girl and an orphaned boy and their experiences during WWII. The book is kind of long, but I read through it really fast and it's not difficult to get lost in it! The story line was wonderful! The characters were great (I found myself really rooting for or against them!). The writing style is so beautiful too. As always, I don't want to give the story away, but I so recommend this book! Epically to anyone who who is interested in historical fiction or WWII!

Have you read this book yet? What do you think about it? If not, what have you been reading lately? What do you think I should read?

Travel Journal: Wilmington, NC

Hey everyone! I spent a long weekend in Wilmington, NC to celebrate 4th of July. I got back home yesterday morning, so I've just sat down to get this post together for y'all to see. I took a ton of pictures at the beach AND the food I ate (of course!). I hope y'all enjoy this look into my beachin trip.

The afternoon we got there we decided to spend a little time at Carolina beach! Had to snap a pic with my sister!

The water at Carolina beach. Isn't it gorgeous!

My dinner that night was some mini crab cakes (& a side salad not pictured) at a restaurant called Michael's Seafood.

The next day we got up bright and early to head to Wrightsville beach! The next string of beach pictures will be from there.

How could we not grab a beach selfie!?

Can you tell I'm still celebrating my graduation? HAHA

Oh yes, still celebrating!

You can find the rest of my soul among the sand and waves.

Had to sport some Lilly at the beach, am I right?

Can you say CANDID?

The next night we went to Carolina Ale House. My mom and I shared these nachos and the salad bellow!
Beach selfie on the 4th!

The last night we went to Elijah's and I got fish and chips!

The Riverwalk at Cape Fear River

Spent some time on the Cape Fear River

Had to catch a panoramic view of the river before the sun went down.

Sorry it's so long! but I hope y'all enjoyed this look at my vacation!
