Blogger Interview: Rebecca W.

Rebecca is a fashion and lifestyle blogger over at Sunny Rebecca who includes all her loves into her blog and has a passion for polka dots. Read below to learn more about this blogger!
Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I loved reading blogs. I noticed that a lot of bloggers were able to create these incredible lives and I wanted to do the same. I love creating things and have always had an interest in design and web design, which is why blogging was perfect for me, since it combined design with creation and I was also able to combine it with some of my favorite things, fashion and food. Creating a blog allowed me to do create something that is truly unique and represents me.

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

I think that my staple clothing item is probably a statement necklace. I love statement necklaces because it's a great way to dress up an otherwise simple outfit. One necklace can transform an outfit from plain to classy. My favorite one is the layered circle necklace from J. Crew factory, it's so classy and goes with anything.

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?

I'm obsessed with so many shows, but I think that the ones that I like the most are Gossip Girl and Revenge. While they are pretty different shows overall, but I'm in love with them both! They both contain a ton of drama, but revenge has suspense that Gossip Girl just doesn't have. I think that Gossip Girl brings out the inner girly girl in me, not that I'm not already pretty girly. On the other hand, Revenge brings intensity to the table.

Do you have a favorite (or most recent) post you've written on your blog? If so, link it!

I don't know if I have a favorite post, but some specific ones that I'm proud of are "What It's Actually Like Being a Blogger," "Balancing School and Blogging," and "What I'm Going to Do in 2016." I think that my favorite ones might just be the personal ones. While I think that it's super fun to take cute outfit pictures and such, I sometimes like to just sit down and let my thoughts flow out and I think that those might be my favorite, since they're personal and real.

What's your favorite quote?

There are so many quotes that I love, but recently the one that I have been loving is "She decided to start living the life that she'd imagined." I feel like this is a perfect way to describe me and how I want my life to go. Instead of sitting around and waiting for my dreams to come true, I need to take action so that I can live my dream life. I don't want to let my dreams stay dreams, I want them to become reality, which is what I'm doing through my blog. Whenever I'm working on my blog, I remind myself that I want to start living the life that I had imagined and it starts here.

Psalm 27:1

"The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

For me, this verse is such a powerful reminder that we have nothing to fear- no reason to be afraid. The Lord is our light, our salvation, our stronghold and that's enough.

I often get wrapped up in fear. I fear I won't be able to handle my new course load. I fear that maybe no one cares about my blog after all or even worse, that people make fun or it. I fear I'm not good enough or quipped enough to carry out what the Lord has call me to do. I fear I'm not a good enough friend or sister or daughter sometimes. I fear what people might say about me. I fear what people might think about me.

But this verse reminds me that these fears are unwarranted. They're unneeded. There're dead weight I don't have to carry. With the Lord, we have nothing and no one to fear.

The negative words people say cannot hurt me. The negative words I tell myself cannot hurt me. Any fear about my worth or ability doesn't matter.

And I am so comforted by this. I am so comforted by the fact that the Lord is greater than all these fears. I am so comforted by the fact that the Lord offers us a light, salvation, and a stronghold.

Today I hope that someone reading this feels free. Free from the fear, the dead weight. I hope you find peace in your light, salvation, and stronghold- the Lord.

Birthday Brunch- Fahrenheit Charlotte

Hey everyone! To celebrate my 19th birthday -which is today by the way- my family and I went to brunch at a great restaurant in Charlotte called Fahrenheit. It was so delicious and fun. I wanted to share the experience with y'all! So here are just a few pictures I took while we were there! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed brunch on Sunday!

I got banana bread waffles to eat. They were so delicious!

My meal also came with breakfast potatoes and bacon. I didn't even eat it all there was so much food! It was all wonderful though!

The restaurant is actually on the 21st floor of a hotel in the heart of Charlotte. So because of this it has a great view of the skyline!

Hailey and I had to snap a picture together before we ate!

I seriously had so much fun at brunch on Sunday. Fahrenheit is such a pretty restaurant and the food is so good. I really want to try it for dinner now! If it's as good as bruch I know would just love it!

I hope y'all enjoyed this little look at my birthday brunch. I enjoyed it so much and so realize how bless I am to be able to celebrate my birthday the way I did.

Currently: 1/25

Hey everyone! Today I just wanted to share with y'all some things that have been part of my life and things I've been doing in a "Currently" post! Oh, and please forgive me for having multiple items in one category- I just have a lot I want to share with y'all! I really hope y'all enjoy this post!

Watching: The Bachelor
I'll be honest, this had been my guilty pleasure lately. But come on, what's not to love?! I just love Ben Higgins (but please tell me what his obsession with planes and hot tubs is!) And of course I have my favorite and not so favorite girls. Right now Caila, Lauren B, and Amanda are some of my favorites right now! Are you watching The Bachelor? What girls are your favorites? (Seriously, if you want to talk about it tweet me or shoot me an email!)

Law & Order: SVU
I discovered that this show was on Hulu a while back and have been slowly going through it ever since. I'm now on season 12 and I swear I've been watching the heck out of it lately! It's such a good show but also brings to light some very important issues going on in the world today. Not to mention I'm totally obsessed with Olivia and Elliot! What do y'all think of SVU?

Reading: Crash The Chatter Box by Steven Furtick
Now I admit that I have not been reading novels as much since the spring semester began. But I am slowly working through this book. So far I really enjoy it. It's all about hearing God's voice above any other. That's something I need some help with at times and this book is a great reminder / refocus! Let me know if y'all would like to see a book review on this when I'm finished!

Seashells + Sparkles
Recently Rachel relaunched her blog with a new theme and I just love it + her content! The new theme is really clean and chic, her blog posts are always interesting. I also follow + interact with her on Twitter-She's so fun and relatable.  Check it out for yourself here!

Eating/Drinking: Starbucks Hot Chocolate
So with school being back in session I'm back to drinking a lot of Starbucks! It's a good pick me up between classes or fun gathering with a friend. Either way I'm loving it! I'm also super close to getting my gold card-ah! I'll hopefully have it by the end of the semester!

Wearing: Monogramed Ear Warmer
So a few years back I bought a monogram ear warmer and hadn't really used it that much. It honestly doesn't usually get cold enough here to need it. But lately it's been freezing and I've gotten some use out of it walking across campus!

Carly earrings by Kendra Scott
My aunt and uncle got me these earrings for Christmas and I just love them! They are just studs and smaller than most of Kendra Scott's jewelry. This makes them great for simple outfits I typically wear to class.

Listening to: Detective Podcast
I've recently finished listening to the 1st season of the Detective podcast. It's all about one guys experience being a detective in Colorado Springs, CO. I find what he has to say so interesting and have a little bias towards this podcast because I am originally from Denver, CO myself. If your into crime TV and such- this is a must listen!

Currently Loving Playlist
I actually put together some songs I've been loving lately into a Spotify playlist! I posted it in a recent blog post linked here. Check it out and let me know what you think of those songs!

Undisclosed Podcast
So if you all know anything about the first season of the podcast of Serial, you know about Adnan Syed. He's been convicted of the murder of his ex girlfriend Hae. Well this podcast takes it beyond Serial and takes an even closer look into the murder. This has been so interested and has even kind of changed my opinion on the matter. If you listened to Serial and found it interesting, this is a must listen!

Inspired by:  Brooke Safferman of The Pink Lyme
Well Brooke did ultimately inspire me to right this post. She does her own Currently posts every so often and after reading one of them a little while I really wanted to do my own Currently post! Now I've finally been able to sit down and write it! So I thought Brooke + her blog deserved a little shoutout on this post!

Cathleen of Classy Cathleen
Recently Cathleen posted an Oldies but Goodies playlist (linked here) full of all kinds of songs we loved + still love! That inspired me to put together a playlist of songs I've been loving recently called Currently Loving (I talked about it and linked it above!) She also told me about the two podcasts mentioned above in her Favorite Podcasts post (linked here) So I thought Cathleen + her blog deserved a little shoutout on this post as well!

I'd love to hear what y'all thought about this post! Would y'all like to see more of these? Let me know in the comments!

Blogger Interview: Kenzie N.

Kenzie is a lifestyle blogger over at Sincerely Kenz. She's a college student from Long Island and just loves all things dog and taco related.
Why did you start blogging?

I went to college to pursue biology major (didn’t know that this would be a horrible decision until after I started taking some classes in that field) and decided to opt out and pursue the major that I really wanted; journalism and English education. Thus, blogging started. I started blogging so that I could use my blog as an outlet for all of my thoughts and creativity. I also thought it would be a great addition to me resume!

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

Hmmm, I’m not that big into fashion, and wouldn’t classify myself as a fashionable person by any means so I don’t really have a “staple piece”. I do have a sweater poncho, which I love very much! You can also always find me rocking my black high top converse.

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?

I love The Office!

Do you have a favorite (or very recent) post you've written on your blog? If so, link it!

This is a post I recently wrote to round up the year!

What's your favorite quote?

“If you want to be happy, be.”

The Best & Worst of Blogging: A Guest Post

Hey, everyone! It's Sophia from here! Today I'm doing a guest post and I couldn't be more excited! In case you don't know me, I'm a sophomore in high school who loves fuzzy socks, J. Crew, and chai tea. My blog, is a fashion and lifestyle blog so make sure to go check it out!

When you hear the word "blogger", you probably think of a girl who's always photogenic and has the perfect life but what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. The 10% you do see doesn't even compare to the 90% of work going on behind the scenes.

As a blogger, you have to present your best self to the world and that isn't always easy. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent trying to nail the perfect flaylay or how many nights I've stayed up editing posts.

Don't get me wrong, life as a blogger has some serious perks! Because of my blog, I have been given opportunities to represent and work with amazing companies as well as build life-long friendships with other bloggers.

I have met so many awesome people because of my blog thanks to social media. Commenting, liking, taking, and posting pictures is so important to creating a good reputation for your blog.

You seriously don't understand how good it feels to know that people like your blog and read your posts. Good feedback gives me motivation to keep posting!

But, being a blogger also means wearing boots, leggings, sweaters, and scarves in 85 degree weather because you need winter pictures for your new post. You WILL look crazy.

The other day I was at lunch trying to take a picture of my food and I swear everyone in Panera had their eyes on me. Can you say "awkward"?

Time is also a huge part of blogging. Planning, writing, and editing posts takes a large chunk of time out of my week and sometimes I have to cancel plans to finish up; but it's all worth it.

In the end, I wouldn't trade my blogger lifestyle for anything. This amazing, fast-paced, photography filled life keeps me on my toes! Every day bringing new ideas and new opportunities that most people my age only dream of.

If you liked this post, make sure to head on over to my blog,, and follow me on Instagram (@5thAvenueUrban).

5 Reasons I Love Zumba

Hey everyone! So for a few years now I have been going to Zumba classes, both at the local gym I belong to and on my college campus. I have really fallen in love with these Zumba classes and really wanted to just share why I love it so much and why you should give it a try!

Dancing is so fun
So Zumba is basically dancing (for those who have never been to a class) and I have always been someone who has always really loved to dance around the house. Zumba offers specific time to just dance and have fun with it. I always believe that I'll never be able to do the steps perfectly, so I just do the very best I can and always have fun while doing it.

I get to listen to fun music
I grew up in a house that was always listening to music and playing "Name that Tune" so music has always been associated with fun to me. So being I just love the high energy music you get to here while at a Zumba class.

It's a stress relief
I've realized that while I'm in a Zumba class I get so engrossed in it that lots of times I'll forget about anything I may have had to deal with that day or what I had yet to deal with that I knew I soon would. When I forget about these things I feel so much less stressed and I feel better.

It allows me to disconnect
This is similar to what I sends just above. I find that I feel even better and am able to let go of even more stress when I don't look at my phone the entire class. Now, with classes only being an hour long this may not seem like much. However, as someone who lives such a tech driven life that even the hour here and there is so nice.

It makes me healthier
This may seem a little obvious, but because Zumba is a really good workout it makes me feel that each class I go to makes me a little healthier and that makes me feel very good as well. I've really made my focus "health" when it comes to working out. I know I'm never going to be the most fit person ever, but I can work towards being healthy.

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! & I really hope that y'all will try a Zumba class if you get the chance! Have you tried Zumba before? What did you think?!

"The Interesting Project" Workbook Review

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about something I'm still really excited about! Last month I was given the opportunity to work through "The Interesting Project" workbook by Taylor DuVall (click on her name to be linked to her website) before it released on January 1st. I really wanted to sit down and give y'all some information on it!

The goal of the workbook is to live an interesting life you love. That in itself is one of the great things about it. Who wouldn't want to live a life they love and a life you find interesting?!

It's split up into 11 different steps which make you really think about yourself and your life. Each include a worksheet to make this happen. I particularly enjoyed the steps titled "Interests" "Travel" and "Self-Belief". Some of them allow you to dream while others allow you to think about real life application. Both are so great during the process! Each step has a little motivational/ inspirational quote that goes along with the topic of the step. This is something that wasn't really necessary to the overall workbook- but something I so enjoyed and loved having throughout!

Throughout this process...
I learned things about myself (I have interest themes of teaching/learning and people).
I learned that I had already been desiring and working towards an interesting life.
I learned practical ways to make my life more interesting (for example attending a tennis match for the first time as a "new experience."

I think this workbook is great for anyone looking for more out of life! And it's available for purchase right now! Get "The Interesting Project" Workbook here!

*Disclaimer: I did receive "The Interesting Project" Workbook free of charge, however, I do ensure that all opinions in this post are my own.

Blogger Interview: Tori C.

Tori is a college and young adult blogger over at Chase The Write Dream. Helping college kids and millennials achieve their goals and dreams is her jam! Read below to learn more about this awesome blogger!
Why did you start blogging?

Aside from the fact that I love to write, I really just wanted to have the opportunity to reach a large number of people. I enjoy helping others and I realized that if I started blogging, then maybe my experiences would help someone who was dealing with the same things I was. I write about college mostly, so I get to share my own stories while also explaining those things that did and did not work for me.

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

Oh man, can I say my cowboy boots? I don't know how I ever did life without them!

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?

I started watching Younger last year and I'm really excited to watch the new season. I'm also an avid Shark Tank fan, probably because I have a little bit of the entrepreneurial spirit in me.

Do you have a favorite (or most recent) post you've written on your blog? If so, link it!

It's so hard to choose because I feel like a piece of me is in every post I write, but if I have to choose just one, I think I'd go with Solutions for Every College Student's Time Management Problems ( I remember struggling with time management A LOT in college and it's one of the hot topics I hear about most often, so I felt really inspired when I wrote this post.

What's your favorite quote?

"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."

Find her...
Hope y'all enjoyed the first Blogger Interview on my blog! Don't forget to take a look at Tori's blog, Twitter, and Pintrest!

My Current Beauty Favorites

Hey everyone! It feels like I have not talked about anything beauty related for a while now. With college and everything I had just been wearing the same old stuff. But today I wanted to just share what beauty products I've really been liking and using a lot lately. Hope you enjoy!

Physicians Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Powder
My sister gave me this powder and I've just loved it ever since. It's great at evening skin tone and converting minor blemishes, but it's not too heavy either.

Boo-Boo Cover Up Concealer
This concealer is great because it does not take a lot of product and blends really well. It's great for convering up my minor blemishes!

Pixi Flawless & Poreless Face Primer
This is a really nice base because it has some pigment to it. It does a good job at evening my skin tone on its own. On good days I'll skip foundation and just wear this and power!

Benefit Watts Up!
This has been my favorite highlighter since I've tried it out. It's nothing new, but I've been loving it again and had to mention it! It's a great golden color to add to cheek bones and your Cupid's bow!

The Balm Nude Dude Eye shadow in Fit
I've been using this shadow almost everyday lately. It's just a super each and pretty nude that can just go all over the eye lid. With an eyebrow highlight- it's a great everyday eye look.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
This is also somethin many people have heard of but I've been wearing it almost everyday so I wanted to mention it. It's just the most beautiful pink blush! Everyone should own it.

Elf Kabuki Face Brush
I wanted to include this brush because I just love putting face powder on with it. I think it's great. I really recommend Elf's brushes- but this one especially!

2016 Goals & Vision

Hey everyone & Happy New Year!
Today I thought it was really important for me to talk to y'all about some goals and my vision for 2016. It'll be getting my words out there and tangible to keep myself accountable as well as something that hopefully encourages or inspires others going into the new year.

So for 2016 I wanted to pick a "vision word". A word I want to live my life by this year. A word I was praying God would build into myself or my life. A word I could keep close in difficult times.
My word for 2016 is...
I want to be bold in my relationship with Him. I want to be bold in pursuing my dreams. I want to be bold in sharing love and encouragement.
I'm hoping and praying for bold and big things for 2016!

Also here are some of my goals for 2016
To grow in my relationship with the Lord.
To learn more about leadership.
To be employed on campus over the summer.
To travel to a place(s) I've never been to.
To continue to do well in school.
To continue to have fun blogging.

I'd love for y'all to share your vision word or your goals for this year! Comment down bellow, email me, tweet me- I'd love to hear it if you're willing to share! Hope your start to 2016 is great!
