Blogger Interview: Gabby

Gabby is the blogger behind A Blissful Life. Read below to learn more about this blogger!

Why did you start blogging?
During the summer of 2015 I was really bored at home. I was actually talking to my friends and made a Youtube channel, but soon discovered that I didn't want to do that. I tried out blogging (not knowing what I was doing at all) and fell in love! The interaction from people (#galpalchat), my readers and my amazing supporters (family & friends).

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?
I'm not a huge fashion fan. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE TO SHOP! I kind of just pick up things that I think are super cute!

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?
I have a whole list of TV shows that I binge watch! I watch most like TV series on Netflix...hehe

Do you have a favorite, or very recent, post you've written on your blog? If so, link it!
I am very proud of everything that I post on my blog (hope that doesn't make me sound to full of myself), but my favorite post would be "New Year - New Oppurtunities" from the very beginning of the year! I feel like on this post I was honestly sharing and helping someone more than ever!

What's your favorite quote?

I have a lot of quotes that inspire me in life, but my favorite one would probably be "For with God nothing shall be impossible" -Luke 1:37

5 Tips to Make Your First Zumba Class a Success

Hey everyone! If you follow me on social media, have been reading Faith's Girly Life for a while, or maybe even know me in person, you're likely to know that I love Zumba classes. So much so that I wrote a blog post about it a while back (you can check it out here). It's become something I really enjoy. If I'm being honest, I wish I could do everyday and dream of being certified one day to teach Zumba! So, with all that said, today I wanted to share 5 tips with those of you who have never been to a Zumba class and wanting to try it out! With these tips, your first Zumba class can be a success!

Bring water
With any workout it's important to stay hydrated, but it's so important to have a water bottle with you at Zumba to make sure you stay healthy. Some instructors will stop for water breaks and others won't, but don't let that stop you from getting some whenever you need it!

Don't worry about being perfect; try your best
If we're all being honest, not many of us are professional dancers or certified to teach Zumba. So don't worry about being perfect and just try your best. You won't be the only one in class that doesn't look exactly like the teacher- and that's ok! The main goal is to just keep moving!

Don't be afraid of the front of the room
Usually people who are in class for the first time like the back of the room (myself included) because less people see you. However, after a few classes I moved up closer to the front of the room and it's so much easier to see the instructor! So, I'd tell people going to Zumba for the first time to not be afraid of the front and try to break away from the back!

Wear what you feel comfortable in
There's a lot of moving around, dancing, jumping, etc. in Zumba. So you don't want to feel uncomfortable in the clothes your wearing. Sometimes you want to wear what other people are wearing so that you might fit it better, but don't worry about that! Comfort is way more important! If you prefer leggings- wear them. If you like tank tops- wear them! There's no Zumba dress code!

Have fun!
I know Zumba is a workout- but you should still have fun too! When your in class just try to relax about how good you are or what others around you are doing and just have fun!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post about Zumba! Let me know if you've been to Zumba (& what you think) or if you've been wanting to give it a try! I seriously recommend that everyone at least try it out!

Blogger Interview: Shelby

Shelby is the blogger behind The Gold Dime. Read below to learn more about her!

Why did you start blogging?
I started my blog to fill my time and give me something to do. I loved talking about fashion + beauty but had no one to tell! I wanted to share inspiration and recommend great items to others.

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

As of lately I’ve been loving just pairing a white tee with just about everything/anything.

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?

New Girl!

Do you have a favorite, or very recent, post you've written on your blog?

I really loved one of my recent fashion posts,

What's your favorite quote?

“Everything happens for a reason”. It’s so overused but it’s so true. Each road block in life, everything that doesn’t go as planned, all happens for some reason. Either we learn from it or it leads us to something better than our original plan.

Walmart Beauty Box Unboxing- Trendsetter Summer 2016

Hey everyone! This month I decided to subscribe to the Walmart Beauty box and just received my first box- The Summer box- just last week! I'm so excited to share with you all what was inside!

But first I wanted to explain a little bit about the Walmart Beauty Box. The Walmart Beauty box is a quarterly subscription service created by Walmart. There's the classic box and the trendsetter box (I have the trendsetter). You will received 4 boxes a year- with each box costing only $5! That's a pretty good deal if you ask me! If you can to sign up yourself you can do that here! (this is not an affiliate link, I'll receive nothing if you choose to sign up).

Here's a quick look at what the outside of the box looks like this season.

Here's another look at the box itself- you can see all the products in the box.

Schwarzkopf Essence Ultimate Diamond Color & Radiance shampoo and conditioner

Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant Clean & Fresh tooth paste. This small size seems great for traveling!

Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion. I've been using Vaseline lotions for a little while now and really enjoy them! But I haven't tried this one yet so I'm excited to give it a try!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs makeup. Unfortunately this ended up being too dark to me so I passed it a long to my sister. Hopefully she can get some use out of it!

Incoco coconut nail art nail strips.

Burt's Bees lipstick. I wore this lipstick to church and out to lunch last Sunday. I just loved it! It's a super nice red that can be more sheer or built up!

Overall, I am so happy with this subscription box! I'm so excited to get the fall box! Have you tried out the Walmart Beauty Box? Are you planning to try it? Let me know!

My Favorite Statement Necklaces

Hey everyone! Back in May I did a blog post called My Favorite Statement Earrings  (linked in the title) where I shared 3 pairs of Kendra Scott earrings that I just adore! I really enjoyed writing that post and sharing it with all of my readers so I wanted to follow up with a similar theme and share some statement necklaces I really enjoy.

Clear + White Jewels
I really like this necklace because it's size and shape really call attention to the piece, but with the jewels being white and clear it's a little more toned down and a little more wearable. I actually got this statement necklace at Walmart for really cheap!

Clear + Purple from Bauble Bar
I got this necklace on a pretty popular jewelry site- Bauble Bar. This necklace is also a little more toned down in color but brings a super cute look to any outfit that's sure to make it stand out.

Bubble Necklaces

If you ask me, these bubble necklaces are what started the statement necklace trend. In fact, these were my first statement necklaces. I love how easy these are to just throw on with just about anything to add an interesting touch. Like the other statement necklaces, these are simple colors to make sure the necklaces are still a little toned down and more sophisticated.

Black Flowers
This one is a dupe for a super popular necklace at J. Crew- but I got this one at Target a while back. I like this one because it's much shorter than the other necklaces I showed above. I also think that the fact that it's flowers rather than circles, squares, or another common shape adds some interesting detail an outfit!

I hope you all enjoyed this look at my favorite statement necklaces! Do you wear statement necklaces? Where did you get your favorites?

Blogger Interview: Rebekah

Rebekah is the blogger behind Life And Times of A College Student. Read below to learn more about this blogger!

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging about a year ago. It was right after I graduated high school and I felt like I had a voice to share that social media just couldn't cover it so I took to blogging.

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?
I have a grey t-shirt dress that I am absolutely obsessed with. I love it because I can dress it up or dress it down. I'll dress it down with a ballet and some converses or I'll grab some booties and a long necklace and dress it up for date night. It's my favorite!

What's your favorite TV Show to binge watch?
I just started Orange is The New Black and I am hooked! But, I watched Friday Night Lights earlier this year and that show is one of my favorites to binge watch! It's the best of everything: drama and love.

Do you have a favorite, or very recent post you've written on your blog? If so, link it!
I would probably say my favorite post would be one of my newer posts. It's called new dreams . I felt like I have changed so much in the past year and this post just reflects all the changes I've made and the person I have become.

What's your favorite quote?
It's not so much of a quote, but it's one of my favorite verses and I actually just kinda realized how amazing it is. It's John 1:16 "Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given". It gives me so much hope that no matter what happens or what I do God gives me grace upon grace.

Plan Better Live Better Planner

Hey everyone! I've got something I am super excited to share with you all today. I've always loved planners and ever since college, using a planner has been an essential piece of my life and making sure I'm successful in college. I'm one that writes everything down- when I'm in class, when I'm at the gym, when I'm babysitting, what I need to do that day or week- and I don't think I'll ever change that. Because planners are so important to me, it's no surprise that I just love looking at new planners, agendas, and such. With that said, I have a planner that was created by a fellow blogger, Emily of Honeybee Joyous, that I am going to be sharing a little bit about.

What is this planner?
This planner is called the "Plan Better Live Better Planner." The planner has both a month at a glance and week at a glance (I always enjoy having both in a planner because they are both useful for different things! I like the week at a glace for day to day things that occur often. But I like the week at a glace for special events like holidays, parties, etc.) This planner also includes a year at a glace section which is super unique! In addition, the planner includes places for all kinds of stuff from reflection, goals, and finances. Each week also includes an side bar for super important stuff you just don't want to forget. I think of these things as extras that you don't often see in other planners. I think this comes from the fact that Emily is someone who really understands what is important in life and what is needed to be truly successful. I love how she kept busy lives in mind when designing this planner!

How do I learn more about this planner?
Now that I've gushed about this planner- I know your super interested and but I also understand that you may want to learn a little bit more about "Plan Better Live Better"! If you are interested in learning even more and getting even more detailed information about this great product- check out this page here. Through this link you can see what Emily herself has to say about the planner as well as check out previews of what the inside of this awesome planner looks like!

How do I buy this planner?
If your completely convinced that the "Plan Better Live Better Planner" is the right planner for you and you totally want to purchase this wonderful product- you can head over to this link here to purchase the PDF download. Right now the planner is on preorder for only $20- I think that is such an amazing deal for this planner! But, if you purchase after the launch on July, 15th, you can still get this planner for only $25!

(DISCLAIMER: I am an affiliate for the "Plan Better Live Better Planner." If you purchase through the link in this blog post in will not cost you anything extra but I will receive a small percentage of the purchase. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% honest and my own.)

I hope you all consider this planner for the upcoming fall! Weather it be for blogging, school, work, or something else- I think this planner has everything you need to be a success! Let me know if you end up purchasing and let me know what you think about it!

What's in My Travel Makeup Bag- Beach Edition

Hey everyone! So as y'all may have noticed that I was on vacation a few weeks ago (if you missed the blog posts about it- click here, here, here, and here). So I thought I'd shareware y'all what makeup I brought with me.

I'm calling it my "beach edition" because I brought less makeup than I normally would have if I would've gone to a city or something like that. Honestly, I only wore makeup once during an entire week long trip. I hope you enjoy a look at the makeup I brought with me!

I thought it would be nice to include a picture of on makeup bag. It's a really awesome Betsey Johnson bag that my aunt and uncle gave me. I really love it because it's so big and can hold a ton of makeup.

I went ahead and included this Bath and Body Works Body Spray in Endless Weekend because it was the only perfume I used when I was gone and it even fit in my makeup bag!

I didn't want to bring heavy foundation, so I brought this BB Crème from NYC in Bronze Radiance. It's light weight but gives you a little bit of a glow and a little bit of coverage. I think it's great for summer!

I also brought along my Super BB powder from Physicians Formula. I love this powder and I think it's also pretty light weight, again perfect for summer.

For blush I brought the Milani blush in Luminoso

Pictured above is a Starlooks eyeliner and Covergirl Lash Blast mascara.

For eyeshadow I brought two Pacifica eyeshadows and a sample size of one from The Balm.

For lip products I brought the Nyx Butter Gloss in Crème Brule and an EOS lip balm in a blue berry flavor.

A sample of the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer also made it in my bag, but it's not really necessary for a beach trip. It was just something I threw in because I'm used to using it every so often when I do my makeup.

Of course you have to have brushes to do your makeup. Above I have the Shadow Brush from Coast Sense and the Kabuki Brush from E.L.F

I also brought along my eyelash curler, but I have no idea what brand it is or where I even bought it. HaHa.

I hope you enjoyed this look into my makeup bag! Let me know in the comments below what products you take with you when you go to the beach!

Blogger Interview: Amy

Amy is the blogger behind Pastel N Pink. She is a 21 year old who loves all things floral, girly and cat related! Read below to learn more about this blogger!

Why did you start blogging?
Like most people, I wanted a creative outlet where I can share my interest in fashion. Growing up I had always had an interest in clothes and always loved dressing up. In middle school I was really into YouTubers who would talk about fashion and did lookbook videos so I started my own channel. After a couple of years of awkwardly talking in front of a camera I realize YouTube wasn’t for me and turned to blogging. From there my blog has became a place where I can share my every day fashion and styling with everyone!

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

If you’ve scrolled through my outfit posts you may see a reoccurring piece of clothing through out. I have this light denim button down shirt that I wear with pretty much everything. I’ve had that shirt since junior year of high school and have gotten more than enough uses out of it. It’s so versatile!

What’s your favorite TV shows to binge watch?
I’m not a really big TV person. I usually spend my free time watching YouTube videos or SharkTank on Hulu. One show in particular I can never get tired of watching though is Gossip Girl. I’m not kidding when I said I’ve watched that series about 6 times now. IT’S SO GOOD.
Do you have a favorite post you’ve written on your blog?

Ahh! I have two, is that cheating? Picture wise I love my “Spring has Sprung” blog post. The photos for this were unplanned and we found the location on a whim, but I just love how they turned out! As for content and writing wise I loved my “Cheers to 21 years” post. My 21st birthday was such a fun time and it was great to relive it again with recapping it on my blog!
What’s your favorite quote?

“It’s not always sunny, but always sunny state of mind” –Lilly Pulitzer
Everyday isn’t going to be a sunny and happy day. Some days you have to create your own sunshine and have a positive mindset. I always joke with my friends that “I’m the sunshine of their life” because they always say I’m low key annoyingly happy all the time. I mean, what’s wrong with wanting to spread some happiness to everyone?

Life Lately

Hey everyone! As you might be able to tell from the content on my blog the last month or so- I've had so much going on in my life so far this summer. So I really just wanted to sit down and talk about a bunch of it with y'all because I just love to share about my everyday life here on Faith's Girly Life. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing about it!

So I've been nannying a lot this summer and I've even been working for two different families off and on. I seriously love all the kids I'm with and the money isn't bad either. I've never nannied or babysat super consistently before  but I really enjoy it now that I am. It's actually been fun and keeping me busy because I get bored super easily over the summer. Before classes ended I didn't think I would have much to do this summer and I thought it might turn out to be a long summer. But it's really been going so fast because of my job as a nanny. I've gotten to go shopping and go to the pool with kids- two things I just love! Nannying is the best job I could have this summer!

A week or so ago I went on vacation with my family. We stayed in Havelock, NC at a rental house on the river, but also spent some time in New Bern, visited Cape Lookout National Seashore, and walked around Morehead and Atlantic Beach. I didn't blog when I was on vacation, (we didn't have Wi-Fi so we were all living off of our cellphone data) but I did 4 spectate blog posts when I got back home talking all about what I did and sharing tons of pictures. If you missed those posts look here, here, here, and here. It was really fun and I really enjoyed sharing everything on my blog!

The Bachelorette
So reality TV is kind of my obsessed and in recent years I've gotten into The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. And of course the current season- with Jojo as the Bachelorette is well underway. It's been and interesting season. Most of the guys seemed pretty cool and their destinations have been awesome. I seriously want to go to Uruguay after the week they spent there! But of course, I have my favorite guys on the show. I'm a total Robby fan (I think he's probably my favorite!). But I also like Alex and James T. Who are your favorites?! I still have no idea who Jojo will pick in the end but I am so excited to see who ends up at the end of the show!

Big Brother
Staying on the theme of reality TV- the current season of Big Brother (season 18) just premiered a few weeks ago. And this show is literally my obsession. This season seems like it's going to be absolutely awesome. The house is decorated based on all kinds of destinations (like Tokyo and London). It's seriously one of my favorites as far as design goes in a long time. They also brought back 4 returning players (James, Nicole, Frank, and Da'vonne) to play along side 12 brand new players. This was so fun because I love seeing familiar faces come back into the house. They are also playing in teams of 4. So far all of these new twists have been super cool. I think it's cool that they're doing something different on a show that's already 18 seasons old. As far as my favorite players go- I love Paulie and I also like Nicole. They're my top 2 for sure! If you watch the show, who's your favorite?!

Crown & Honey Bracelets
Because I am a part of the Hive Society through Crown & Honey- the wonderful ladies there sent me two lovely bracelets that I just really wanted to share with you all! You may have seen these photos of them on my Instagram (@faith_allyn_dumais), but I also couldn't help but share them here as well!

The first one is their Christian Faith Monogram Bangle Charm Bracelet- linked here. I'm just obsessed with this because it's super cute and girly and also allows me to share a little bit of my faith in my outfits!

The second one includes a super sweet and inspirational charm that is brand new to their product line. I love the honey comb and bumble bee detail and also the message "You will forever and always be enough." I was just thrilled to receive both of these bracelets and so blessed to have the chance to get to wear them and show off this awesome brand.

What's to come...
I thought I'd end with a little section about what I've got already got planned for later in the summer both in real life and on Faith's Girly Life. First, I'm going to a Rob Thomas concert in late July that I'm super excited about. I've been listening to him and Matchbox Twenty since I was little! I'm also going to be spending a day on Lake Norman in a pontoon boat. My family always does this once a year and it's always a blast!

As for upcoming content on the blog- I don't want to give away too much! I want y'all to be pleasantly surprised! But I will say that in August I'm going to have a blog post up about the classes I'll be taking in the fall. I think it'll give you a look into my academic life in case y'all are interested or have questions.

I hope you enjoyed a look into what's been going on in my life! Let me know what's going on in your life in the comments below or in an email! I love to here from y'all!
