Walmart Beauty Box- Fall 2016

Hey everyone! Last week I got the Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2016 and I really wanted to show you what all came in it this season!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Walmart Beauty Box, its a quarterly subscription box that costs $5 that includes a variety of sample products for you to try out! As far as value goes, I think it's a really good deal! You get a good amount of stuff in each box for only $5.

So here's what I got!

Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash
I've used Dove products before and I think they're pretty good, so I think it was a cool brand to get in the box. And this small size is really great for anytime you'll need to take body wash on the go with you. The sent is also really nice!

Dove Advanced Care Deodorant
Another Dove product, which is really cool. And like before, the small size makes it perfect for on the go which is awesome. I go to the gym multiple times a week so that's what I'll be using this for. It seems a lot like cucumbers (hence the picture on the front), which is different than any other deodorant I've seen, but I think I like it.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
Cetaphil is an awesome brand to get in this box! And I struggle with really dry skin, so the more moisturizing products the better off I'll be. I'm excited that I got this!

Clean & Clear Deep Action 60 Second Shower Mask
I've never seen or tried a product like this before, so I'm excited to give it a try. I might even seen if my sister wants to try it to see how it is with different skin types!

Village Naturals Therapy Aches + Pains Muscle Relief Bath Soak
This is a really cool product, I definitely enjoy baths occasional (although I haven't taken one in quite a while). However, I'll be honest and say that I do not like the smell of eucalyptus, spearmint, or menthol (which are all in this bath soak). So I passed it along to my sister to get some good use of out. But I still think it was an awesome thing to get in the box!

Biore Deep Cleaning Charcoal Pore Strips
I've used regular pore strips before but never these charcoal ones, so I was super excited to get this. I've already tried it out and can say that these are awesome! I think they really work and help clear out any clogged pores on your nose. I was just a little bummed that there was only one strip in the box because I liked it so much!

Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin, & Nails Gummies
I thought this was an interesting thing to get in the box because you often don't realize that gummy vitamins aren't just for kids anymore. There's adult options now too! There was only one dose of the vitamins in the box, so I can't say if it really improves hair, skin, and nails. However, I thought they tasted pretty good, although they tasted more citrus than strawberry.

Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil
I've never tried a cleansing oil before and I haven't tried a lot of Burt's Bees products in general, so I thought this was cool to get and I'm excited to give it a try soon.

Hello Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste in Pure Mint
I've never heard of this brand before and I honestly don't really try tons of different toothpastes. But this one definitely seems interested and the small size is good for travel, so I'll definitely get some use out of it at some point!

I think this box ha some really good products in it and I thought it was a really good deal! Do you get the Walmart Beauty Box? What do you think of these products? Let me know in the comments bellow!

God Closes Doors So That He Can Open Windows

Hey everyone! Today I really want to talk about something that happens to all of us but it's also something that can be really difficult to deal with- when God closes a door in our lives. God closing a door can look like a lot of different things. It can be missing out on an opportunity, it can look like a relationship or friendship ending. But the one thing that remains constant is that fact that it hurts when God closes a door.

The things I mentioned before are not fun things. I believe that we (yes, myself included) often struggle with this hurt, we don't know how to feel about the closed door. Some sulk in the pain. Some turn the pain into anger towards God- "Why would He do this to me?" Others allow the closed door to define them- "I'll never be successful without (insert whatever God ended, took away, etc.)" It's honestly so easy to let it devastate you and tear you down and keep you from your true purpose. I understand. I've been there.

But I believe that God has such a bigger and deeper goal in closing these doors. God didn't end that friendship or allow you to miss that opportunity to leave you broken. I believe that God is really setting your up to follow in His grand plan for your life. I believe that God closes doors so that He can open windows. I believe that missed opportunities will allow for bigger and better opportunities. I believe that ended friendships will leave room for stronger and more Jesus centered friendships down the road.

I especially like the illustration of the window, and here's why: a window isn't always easy to get through. You can't just walk on through like a door, you have to climb through it. It requires a little more effort sometimes. You have to take your feet off the ground. It's not always comfortable to climb through a window. I think this is how following God's plan can be sometimes. It's sometimes scary, it's sometimes uncomfortable, and it's sometimes more difficult than following your own plan. Seeking out Jesus-centered friendships can be hard. Finding an opportunity that truly fits into God's plan for your life can be messy. But in the end these difficult windows will fill you up and make you feel whole when the doors, that seem easy, will leave you feeling exhausted. What seems easy now will eventually drain you. What seems hard know is exactly what God wants to use to bless you.

When I look back at the doors that God has closed in my life, I realize that they were all things I wanted for myself, not necessarily something God planned for my life. I realize that He had to close them so I could get onto the path he was paving for me and my life. I realize that applying for that position I didn't get and continuing in that friendship that has since ended was me taking hold of the pen and trying to write my own story. I now know that God is the ultimate author and knows exactly what should and shouldn't be a part of my life.  There's greater plans for me when a door is closed.

So to those of you struggling through the hurt of a closed door- there's greater plans for you when a door is closed too. God is closing doors to get you onto the unique path He's paving for you and your life. He knows what should and shouldn't be a part of your life. God closes doors so that He can open windows.

Blogger Interview: Sami

Sami is the blogger behind The Classic Brunette. Read below to learn more about this blogger!

Why did you start blogging?
I've always loved writing. When I was little I would write short stories, admittedly they were pretty bad, but the love of writing stuck around and my writing progressed with it. I did a year in journalism class in high school where I wrote for my school's newspaper, but found that reporting on the more "serious" topics wasn't my favorite. I took a break from writing for a while after that, but the summer before my sophomore year of college I started seeing more blogs from people my age and thought that it was a great idea, and thus The Classic Brunette was born!

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?
I actually have a few staple clothing items. A great pair of jeans in your favorite cut, mine are a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans! My second staple is a colorful sundress or casual dress. This doesn't actually scream "staple," but you'd be surprised how many times you go to grab one from your closet!

What's your favorite TV show to binge watch?
I think I've watched Gossip Girl like 5 times, it never gets old! That and The Vampire Diaries.

Do you have a favorite, or very recent post you've written on your blog? Link it!
My favorite post is probably my "How To Use Instagram Like A Pro" because I was super proud of how well it turned out, and it shows just how much change can happen when you start treating social media like a business!

What's your favorite quote?
"How can you know the power of one person? Each one of us has the chance to be a light in someone's path." -Maya Angelou

Blogging Schedule?

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk a little bit about something that tends to come up when bloggers are talking or if you read enough blogs you'll probably see them talk about or even notice it. And that's a blogging schedule.

I'm going to be really honest, I'm the worst at keeping a blogging schedule and I'm always changing it. This summer I had a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule for blog posts to go up. That ended up working pretty well this summer. I had a lot of time because I was only nannying part time and going to the gym, so I could spend a lot more time blogging. Then when school started up again I moved my schedule to Tuesday, Friday. I thought going down to two days a week would really help me out and allow me to fit my blog into my school and work schedule really well. However, I quickly realized that that schedule was not something I could keep to. I go to school full time and nanny part time, and Tuesday's end up being my longest and busiest day. So it just wasn't realistic to say that I'd have a post up every Tuesday. Therefore, I found myself not getting around to blogging way to often for my liking.

I thought about foregoing a blogging schedule entirely. I felt like it was kind of adding stress to something that is suppose to be fun, happy, and just for me to share my thoughts and my life on the internet. However, I don't think that's totally realistic for me life either. I need and like a little structure to my life, even my hobbies. I like to have a general idea of what to expect each day. And I also think it's nice for y'all to have a good idea of when to expect posts to be up on Faith's Girly Life.

So at the beginning of October, I made the decision to change my blogging schedule a little bit so that it fits into my schedule better and has the potential to be more successful than the posting schedule I had at the end of August. Now I will be posting on Wednesday's and Friday's. I hope this will allow me the structure I want and still fit into my schedule well enough to keep myself from feeling stressed about posting on the blog. I also hope that this schedule allows y'all to catch everything that's going on here on the blog! I do want to mention that this is not to say that I will never post more or less than this, I just want to give myself and you all a general guideline for posts!

I really hope y'all liked this kind of post and getting to learn more about my experience with blogging schedules and my game plan moving forward! Let me know your thoughts on blogging schedules below! Do you like them? If your a blogger yourself, do you have a blogging schedule? If so, what is it?

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Hey everyone! With the start of October my family decided to go get some pumpkins and I just had to take some pictures! We went to two different places, one about 15 minutes from our house while the other was literally right down the road. It was super fun! I really wanted to share these pictures with y'all! I hope y'all enjoy it!

Anytime we do something fun, Hailey and I have to make sure we take a picture together!

What fall activities are y'all up to this month? Do you have any fun or exciting plans this month? My family is also trying to plan on going apple picking up in the mountains soon! And we also want to try to go on a little hiking trip in South Carolina soon! I'm so excited for both of these little trips! I'll definitely make sure to take a bunch of pictures when we go and share them with y'all!

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging two years ago and everyone assumes it was because I love clothes (This is very true!). But, I found it was a great way to express myself. I was going through a hard time in my life and blogging was the perfect escape. As I got more involved, I found that there is an amazing blogging community out there and I advise anyone who is thinking about starting a blog to just pull the trigger and do it!

Do you have a staple clothing item? If so, what is it?

J.Crew Chino Shorts - hands down. They literally come in every color and length. You can dress them up with heels or wedges. You can dress them down with sandals or flats. They go with EVERYTHING! I'm obsessed.

Monthly Intentions Collaboration- October

Hey everyone! September literally flew by for me! So I'm back with the Monthly Intentions Collab for the month of October. Like always, I'll update y'all about September and also talk about my goals for October.

High for September- My high for September was defiantly the fact that I started attending the Delight Ministries chapter on my campus. It's so much fun. The girls are so sweet. All the apparel and the devotional books are adorable. I really feel Jesus working in me through this and I love that I took a leap of faith to try the group. I'm going to continue being a part throughout this school year and hopefully beyond that.

Low for September- My low for September was the fact that I felt pretty overwhelmed at times through the month. I had a lot of tests and quizzes and a paper due in my classes, I've been trying to get into the gym more, I'm nannying and staying involved in my sorority and getting involved in Delight. So the combination of everything got to me at times and made me anxious. However, I'm feeling much better as I head into October and resting in the truth that God has it under control.

September Goals Update-
1. Get into a good school/work routine- I think I did a pretty good job with this one, even though I felt overwhelmed at times I was always able to maintain my schedule.

2. Stick to my updated blogging schedule- I definitely failed at this one, I'll be honest. Tuesday's are my longest day so having a post go up on those days just wasn't realistic. However, I'm amended my schedule again and hope to stick to that in October.

3. Enjoy- I think I generally accomplished this. I like I was able to make it through being overwhelmed because I was able to enjoy a lot of the individual parts of my life.

October Goals-
1. Go apple picking- My family has been talking about going apple picking up in the mountains for a few weeks now so I'm really wanting to go and really hope we make it this month!

2. Color more- This weekend I had some extra time to color and I remembered how much I love it. So I really want to make it a priority to color during the month of October.

3. Stick to my updated blogging schedule- As I said before, it didn't work out for me during the month of September so I re-did my schedule and am striving to stick to the new one, you'll see a new post about the schedule soon!

I hope you enjoyed this post! And as always with this collaboration- check out the ladies below to see what their goals are for this month are!
