Welcome To Blogmas!

Hey y'all! And welcome to Blogmas! I am so excited to start this fun little series on my blog, but let me answer some possible questions first.

What is Blogmas?
Blogmas is a series/ tag bloggers often participate in which involved posting everyday from December 1st until December 25th as a fun way to celebrate and count down to Christmas!

What will you see on Life With Faith during Blogmas?
During Blogmas your going to see lots of my regular content (lifestyle, Christian, college) with a little bit of Christmas content mixed in there! Hint: I'm going to be sharing a Christmas Movie Bucket List and Christmas Playlist.

When will the posts go live everyday?
For the most part, I'm going to have blog posts go live at 5 p.m.  EST (Eastern Standard Time) each day. However, please be sure to give me some grace in that. Sometimes it might end up being a little later that 5 p.m. or it might be earlier if I get super excited to share a particular post with y'all!

Are there other bloggers participating in Blogmas this year?
YES! Lots of bloggers participate in Blogmas every year. Here is a few bloggesr who will be participating this year...

Emily of Honneybee Joyous
Kristen of Kristen Rose

Kayla of Kayla Blogs is doing Vlogmas on her YouTube channel!

Additional announcement!
I will also be (trying) to participate in Vlogmas this year! Basically, it's the same concept as Blogmas but it's 25 days of vlogging every single day. Basically just to show everyone what I'm up to every day. I do say trying though because honestly, I can't guarantee I'll get a vlog up every single day. But I will promise as many videos as possible! I really do enjoy vlogging and I haven't done it in a while so I wanted to do my best at Vlogmas this December. Honestly, I'm pretty self conscious when it comes to being on videos so I'm using it as a way to step out of my comfort zone! To make sure you're seeing my vlogs starting tomorrow, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel here.

So please, get excited for all the content you'll be seeing over the next 24 days and be sure to check out the other bloggers who are participating this year; I know their posts are going to be great as well! I hope y'all have a great December and Christmas season! Hope you have a beautiful day!

Called to Love

"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19

Hey everyone! I stumbled upon this verse this morning while working through "100 Days to Brave" by Annie F. Downs and all day it's been in my heart to share with y'all. Specifically, there's a few things that stands out.

He loved us first. Before we were ever born he new us and our every mistake yet still choose to love us. He knew we were imperfect but still gave His perfect son for us. I think it's so important that we're constantly reminded of God's unconditional love for us because, honestly, sometimes it's hard to accept. We see all out imperfections. We see our faults and mistakes. So we don't always think we're deserving of that love. But, I just want to remind you that there's nothing God doesn't know. We can't hind from him. Those imperfections, faults, and mistakes we often obsess over? He sees them too. He sees every single one and loves us anyway. We are loved by our God beyond measure just how we are, just how we stand here today.

Secondly, I see a call to love. A call to love others, of course, but there's also a call to love ourselves, which is just as important. Just as God loves us each and every single day. You know those imperfections, those faults, those mistakes I mentioned earlier? We need to stop beating ourselves up about them. We need to stop obsessing over them. We need to stop letting them define us. Because the one that matters [God] loves us anyway. So I really challenge you to change the way you speak to yourself. Just like we're called to breathe life into others, be sure to do that to yourself too. Find scripture about your worth in Gods eyes instead of beating yourself up about your appearance. When you look in the mirror tell yourself one thing you love about you instead of tearing yourself down. God loves us so much so why shouldn't we love ourselves? Why should we spend so much time bringing ourselves down when God says that we're fearfully and wonderfully made? God could have done whatever he wanted when he made you, seriously, he made the ocean and mountains, yet he choose to make you exactly how you are now. Remember and hold onto that. Remeber that we're called to love ourselves.

Annie talks about this in one the devotions in the book and I really just wanted to share my own thoughts and what I learned from it with y'all because I think it could be so freeing and life giving. I hope this is what you needed to hear this afternoon. I hope you have a beautiful day!

Thankful

Hey y'all! And Happy Thanksgiving! I really hope y'all have had a great time eating and spending time with your families today. Fellowship and good food is what Thanksgiving is all about am I right? So I wanted to sit down to and just write about everything I'm thankful for right now. Most college students will probably agree with me when I say that this is a super hectic season with lots to finish up before its time to prepare for finals. With all the craziness it can be so easy to get caught up in all the wrong things and forget about all the reasons you should be thankful. So, I'm just going to list a whole bunch of things I'm thankful for in the hopes that it'll not only put heart in the right place but also inspire y'all to stop and think about what your thankful for if you haven't yet today.

So here is a completely random list of things I'm thankful for...
A God who loves me unconditionally
My parents who have always done their best for me
My sister who is my best friend and complete opposite all in one
My dogs who annoy the crap out of me but are too cute for me to stay mad for long
My sorority sisters and the support they give me (dove love!)
Delight ministries and the stories I've read and the girls I've met because of it
All the friends I've made through college and all the laughs and fun times I share with them
My university and the awesome education I'm getting there (even if parking is cray)
My passion for loving on people
My passion for teaching students with special needs
The money I'm saving and the support I get by living at home
Music and it's ability to lift my mood
Crime TV shows and podcasts (for always keeping me entertained
My blog, the outlet it gives me to express myself, and the awesome readers I have!
My car that I was able to buy myself
The beach
The sound of rain
Hot chocolate
Passion tea lemonade from Starbucks
Elevation church
The mountains
Walks
Zumba classes and the gym as a whole
Books
Chocolate
The little boy I babysit often
Busy days
Lazy days
Leggings and my favorite tennis shoes
Baseball hats
Good food
Laughter
Hugs
Devotionals, Bible studies, and the Bible itself
The friends I've made online that I haven't even met in person yet- talking about you Katie & Sam!
Encouraging text (sending them and receiving them!)

Now I challenge you to write your own random list of things you're thankful for. If you have a blog, post it there. If you want to put it on Facebook, do it. If you want to write it in your journal, go for it. If you want to share in the comments bellow, I'd LOVE that! No matter how you do it, I urge you to do it. I think it's such a great heart check and way to get back to what's really important and what life if truly about. Have a beautiful day!
