Brunch With Faith #1 (January & February)
I obviously started a new semester the 2nd week of January so I ended up spending a lot of time readjusting to the new schedule and new workload. Overall, all of my classes have been really great and I've been feeling really successful so far. I've been really enjoying having three online classes because it allows me extra time to work. do sorority stuff, and hang out with my friends and family. I actually wrote a post at the beginning of January where I talked about all of the classes I'm taking this semester so if you're interested in reading more about that you can look right here!
During the month of January I stopped nannying for the family I had work for during the fall semester. Nothing bad happened to warrant the switch, the kids mom had another baby and decided to take a lot of time off of work. So, I just wasn't needed anymore and we ended things on good terms. Then the week after that job ended I started nannying for another family. There's an 11 year old boy and a 5 year old boy (who has Down Syndrome). I really feel in my niche with this family and it's been so great! There was definitely an adjustment period with changing families but overall it went great and I'm so happy with my new job and so blessed that I was able to go from one job to the next so smoothly.
Some of you may know (but others may not), that a group of girls and I had been working on founding a chapter of Sigma Alpha Omega Christian sorority on our campus- and it finally happened! On January 14th we were officially founded and initiated! It was a lot of work and required a lot of patience but it has been so worth it! Then we had our first recruitment the last week of January and we able to offer bids to so,e wonderful girls. They are all super great and I am so glad they're going through the candidate process and will be officially joining the sisterhood soon! In other sorority news, I've been buying stuff with my letters on it like crazy (because those letters are so special to me!). I've been thinking about doing a sorority haul to show everything I have but please let me know if that's something y'all are interested in! Also, in February, we had a National Service Week where all the chapters of SAO across the national had a week long event of having service projects going on each day of the week. As service chair this semester for my chapter, I got the opportunity to coordinate this week. It was super successful and I am so proud of everything myself and my chapter was able to complete over the course of only 7 days.
I'm 20 now!
My birthday way on January 27th and I turned 20 this year! I ended up having a very fun but definitely very crazy birthday (because it fell as the end of our recruitment week!). I got some great gifts and got to spend some great time with my family. We went to lunch at this great restaurant in Charlotte called Cowfish and spent a little bit of time at the mall. I actually vlogged our trip out! I showed what we ate, some stores we went into, and even what some people bought me! You can check that out in the blog post here if you're interested.
In February I finally got to get back to going to Delight gatherings. I had to miss the two in January because of sorority stuff going on so it was so great to get back to it! We celebrated our chapters 1st anniversary, had a wonderful galentine's gathering, and I went on a Delight Date with a super sweet friend. We sat at Zaxby's for an hour and a half just talking about life and school and one of the stories in our devotional book. I love being a part of this group!
In addition to school, work, and my organizations, I've also been watching a lot of TV during my free time. And since I'm taking the time to update y'all on my life in this post, I thought I'd talk about TV shows I've been watching too and share some of my thoughts!
Big Brother-I've been going back and watching old seasons of Big Brother since about August and it's been so much fun. Because I was so young when it started, I didn't get to see the first 9 seasons. I really love the show and I've been loving watching all the old seasons. It's been a lot of fun to see how it's evolved and get to see some of the more famous players play the game instead of just hearing about it. It's making me even more excited for this summer when a new season will be coming on! Let me know in the comments bellow if you watch Big Brother!
The Bachelor- This season of The Bachelor premiered in January and I've ben watching when I get the chance. In all honesty I have been busy on some Monday nights lately so I haven't sen every episode. And honestly, I have mixed feelings. I wasn't happy about Nick being the bachelor this season but after the first few episodes I liked him. But then the longer the season went on the more uninterested I got in all the drama, I got really love Vanessa and I'm happy that Rachel will be the next Bachelorette. I just didn't get as into it this season as I normally do. What are your thoughts on The Bachelor this season? Let me know in the comments below!
Hunted- Hunted is a new show on CBS where regular people go on the run and are "hunted" by a team of people who are former law enforcement, like CIA or US Marshall. Generally speaking, I think it's a good show and it's really interesting to see what people's stratifies are for not getting caught. But I do think the rules of the game might need to be changed just a tad if the show is going to continue with additional seasons. The rules are a little gimmick-like and favor the those who are hunting. The rules honest make it pretty difficult for anyone to evade capture and win the game. However, I still really recommend watching it!
Bull- Bull is also a new show on CBS that it about a jury selection specialist. It's super interesting and definitely feeds into my addiction of any and all crime tv shows! It's both interesting and funny, which I love. I really recommend it if any of what I just said sounds like your thing!
Podcast- Pretty recently I started listening to a podcast called My Favorite Murder and I've really been enjoying it. It's basically two women talking about murder cases and the information they know about each case. It's definitively a different kind of show and it's definitively not for everyone, but I'd totally recommend it to anyone who is into true crime.
Ok, so I think y'all have probably had enough of reading my ramblings about the crazy and beautiful last 2 months of my life. Thanks so much for being interested in my life! I hope to make these a more often occurrence on Life With Faith (I'm thinking every month or every other month) so let me know what you think of this type of post in the comments below!
